Janet is the team lead for the Fermentation group. The fermentation group assists partners with the development, optimization and scale up of products from biological processes. Companies that have developed biological processes at bench scale, can utilize the equipment (fermenters from 20 L to 10,000 L along with associated downstream equipment) and expertise (achieved over 30 years of operation) of the team to test the technical and commercial viability of processes and to produce commercial quantities for market testing and initial sales. The team has experience with a broad range of processes including soil inoculants, biopesticides, biomaterials and lipids and proteins. The facility is an important tool in in deployment of this technology as the equipment and expertise required is expensive and often beyond the reach of companies developing new processes.
