Aboriginal Environmental Services Network (AESN)

InnoTech Alberta has developed a unique approach to skill development, communication, resource sharing and promotion of Indigenous participation in the environmental industry. Recent training programs developed at InnoTech – and delivered with a variety of partners – have included environmental monitoring, and pipeline leak detection and monitoring.  Ongoing contact and support for Indigenous individuals and communities in relation to the environmental services sector is provided through the Aboriginal Environmental Services Network, an entity managed by InnoTech Alberta.

Indigenous Pipeline Monitoring Program

Building capacity within Indigenous communities around pipeline monitoring and leak detection can lead to better leak detection and response times, provide employment opportunities for local communities, and result in increased environmental protection.

Our project addresses economic development and diversification through making pipelines safer, and managing risk associated with incidents.
