Industrial equipment frequently operates in environments involving abrasion, erosion, impact, and corrosion. InnoTech Alberta develops and evaluates wear-resistant materials, coatings, overlays, composites, and advanced manufacturing approaches that improve durability and extend equipment life. Our capabilities support everything from materials selection and development to testing, qualification, and deployment.
Explore: Wear Resistant Materials
Additive manufacturing enables new approaches to product development, repair, refurbishment, and specialized component production. InnoTech Alberta supports metal additive manufacturing, custom powder development, materials qualification, performance validation, and technology adoption using both Laser Powder Bed Fusion and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing technologies.
Explore: Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing
Advanced welding technologies play a critical role in manufacturing performance, repair strategies, hardfacing, and asset reliability. Our welding specialists support process development, equipment evaluation, welding procedure qualification, technology validation, and industrial-scale demonstrations to help clients improve quality, productivity, and technology adoption.
Successful deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies requires more than technical performance. Organizations must understand implementation risks, qualification requirements, industry standards, operational impacts, and long-term reliability.
InnoTech Alberta provides independent evaluation, testing, and validation programs that help organizations make informed decisions and transition innovative technologies into practical industrial solutions.
Using computer software (such as CAD) and object scanners we can develop designs and create prototypes from metals, polymers, and composite materials. For polymer builds we generally use smaller desktop 3D printers and our Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing facility (WAAM) for large-scale metallic and composite builds.
Additive manufacturing / 3D printing reduces the risk in process development and equipment selection. It allows for the proper selection of consumable materials and the evaluation of parts created using 3D printing technology; allowing more flexibility in manufacturing, more consistent quality, increased sustainability, and reduced costs when compared to traditional methods.
