InnoTech Alberta, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (EPA), Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and the Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada (PTAC) are pleased to invite you to an upcoming workshop focused on the Decision Framework and Support Tools (DST) to guide recommendations regarding the reclamation of padded wellsites in peatlands.
As part of a pilot initiated by EPA, operators have been able to apply to the AER for approval to reclaim well pads to upland land use rather than peatland. This pilot aims to streamline the reclamation certification process, as approvals for changes in land use are currently the responsibility of Forestry and Parks (FP).
The workshop will bring together stakeholders from industry, EPA, AER, and FP to:

Supporting Information: Please note that there will be no review of the Decision Framework and Support Tools at the Workshop; participants are expected to be familiar with the concept and use of the DST.
