Michelle has over 20 years of experience promoting research and innovation in Alberta during her career with InnoTech Alberta (formerly Alberta Innovates – Technology Futures and Alberta Research Council). As the Business Relations Manager for InnoTech Alberta, her mandate is to identify new business opportunities and foster collaboration across disciplines and sectors.

She is InnoTech Alberta’s liaison for Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA) and is a director for the board of the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute (ABMI). Her career has also included Portfolio Manager for Ecosystem Management, Program Lead for Ecological Conservation and Research Project Manager.

A practicing research statistician, Michelle has focused on research in the areas of ecosystem management, agriculture, forestry, oil and gas, toxicology, as well as animal and human health. Michelle holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Statistics and Applied Probability from the University of Alberta.
