March 18: Covid 19 Announcement - InnoTech Alberta

As the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps the globe, our top priority is the health and safety of our employees. At the same time, we understand the extraordinary measures we are taking in the collective battle to “flatten the curve” of the outbreak in Alberta will have impacts on industry clients and partners.

I want to assure you that our team at InnoTech Alberta, a subsidiary of Alberta Innovates, is taking all necessary steps to maintain essential operations to meet critical commitments to industry clients and partners. We ask, also, for your flexibility when alternate resources or arrangements are required.

We continue to implement preparedness plans to mitigate both short and long-term impacts to the clients we serve. InnoTech Alberta supports and manages applied research and development activities of the entrepreneurial community as well as key business sectors including energy, agriculture, fibre, advanced manufacturing and environment, and we are resolute in our support of client needs during these turbulent times.

We are working diligently to ensure that key resources are available with some of our team working remotely and fully connected to our systems to ensure there is as little disruption as possible to client projects. Others who work at the seven locations throughout Alberta remain onsite within our facilities to ensure the research and testing functions are supported. We have workplace strategies in place to protect the ongoing health and safety of the people in these critical operational roles.

We will do all we can to maintain onsite operations, in accordance with current Alberta guidelines and requirements. We will notify all affected clients and stakeholders of any significant changes to these operations. Should you have any questions or concerns related to business continuity, please reach out by phone or email to your primary contact with InnoTech Alberta, or to me.

We thank you for your understanding and patience during this challenging time.

Stay well,

Steve McMahon, P.Eng.
