In its history\, this event has been attended by professionals from all over the world. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the next edition of the Water Innovation series on Alberta Innovates Unbound. The impacts of climate change can be clearly seen in our water resources. In Alberta\, water quality is changing\, and water supply is more variable and increasingly uncertain due to extreme weather events. Stable isotopes have been used to investigate water balance processes\, and the relationships between hydrology\, vegetation and ecosystems. DESCRIPTION:InnoTech Alberta\, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (EPA)\, Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and the Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada (PTAC) are pleased to invite you to an upcoming workshop focused on the Decision Framework and Support Tools (DST) to guide recommendations regarding the reclamation of padded wellsites in peatlands. \nAs part of a pilot initiated by EPA\, operators have been able to apply to the AER for approval to reclaim well pads to upland land use rather than peatland. DESCRIPTION:InnoTech Alberta is a leader in carbon capture\, utilization and storage (CCUS)\, and we’re showcasing how innovation is engineering a low carbon future. Our work helps industry meet carbon reduction goals while maintaining competitiveness. \nCarbon Capture Canada\, Canada’s national CCUS Convention\, returns to Edmonton on September 23-25\, 2025\, at a make-or-break juncture for both the public and private sectors. With Deep Sky set to commence operations in the summer\, federal investment in carbon management technologies under the Energy Innovation Program\, and the advancement of Heidelberg’s groundbreaking CCUS project at its cement plant in Edmonton\, the progress is tangible. \nThe global CCUS sector is expected to see a record number of final investment decisions (FIDs) in 2025\, with around 200 projects aiming for approval. This shift from project announcements to execution will no doubt inform Canada’s CCUS strategies.
