Overview

The Biomass Conversion and Processing team increases the value of biofibre resources by extracting and and testing of higher-value materials.

The Biomass Conversion and Processing team operates under the Food and Fibre sector. InnoTech also performs research in Bio-Processing.

Supports Alberta Innovates' priorities in Bio-E by working with SMEs,  industries and GOA ministries (ARD, SRD) to develop and demonstrate leading-edge technologies for handling and adding value to Alberta bio-fibre resources. Our goal is to enhance the profitability and environmental sustainability of Alberta forestry and agriculture based industries by recovering value from every fibre and working towards the concept of zero waste.
